Wayward Balls

You may have noticed an update to the Wayward Balls register where we have now modernised to the use of QR code scanning in a move away from written paper. The use of QR codes will assist the office in confirming the existence and legitimacy of claims made.

Where a golf ball is inadvertently hit out of bounds and causes damage, our insurer requires us to identify the date and time of the incident together with the member or public player who hit the ball in order that we may be recompensed for the repair. It is a requirement that all balls hit out of bounds are recorded. On the register you will be asked your name, member number if applicable and which hole your ball was hit over the boundary.

Medal of Medals

Last Saturday, 27 April the Annual Medal of Medals was run after having to postpone it from the scheduled first Saturday in April due to rain.

With a spectacular day for golf, this 18 holes stroke place nett is contested by players who have won a monthly medal in the 12 months within our 2023-2024 Golf year.

This year congratulations goes to Duncan Blyth coming out on top to win this year's Medal of Medals competition with final score of 66 on a count back. Certainly, good golfing.

Golfing Members Locker Room Access

Following the relocation of the old Buggy Room, the new direct access through to the Men's locker room is nearly complete. A new proximity reader will be installed so that members may either swipe their existing magnetic reader card or alternatively tap for access.

For the Women's locker room, as swipe readers are not available anymore, a new proximity card reader has been installed. What this means is that Women golfers wanting external access to the locker room will need to get a new proximity card.

We are in the process of replacing the proximity cards with a combined member/proximity card however this will not be immediately available, so in the interim, if you need access, please come to Reception and we will process and encode one for you.

Women's Report

Sunday Pennants - North Ryde Golf Club vs Roseville: Sunday, 21st April - Avondale Golf Club. The team squared the day with Angela Café and Angie Arathoon both winning their matches. Fiona Montgomery squared her match and Philippa Ternes and Kathy Coales both lost. The weather was pleasant after a rainy Saturday and Avondale Club put on a tremendous spread for all the ladies once they had finished their round. See image from the day.

Stroke Women's Medal Round 3: Sunday, 28 April, the Sunday Women played their third medal round of the season. The Division 1 winner was Philippa Ternes with a nett score of 74 and the Division 2 winner was Linda Cordner who had a great round scoring nett 67. The scratch winner of the day was Morag Irons with a score of 84. We had 21 players competing on the day including welcoming a couple of new players and a few of the weekday ladies.
